The questions assess your ability to identify and select the correct wording in syntactic and lexical structures. The questions are always linked with communicative situations and the context of France or French-speaking countries. The questions assess your ability to understand written French.

Each candidate will receive a certificate that is valid for two years; in a way, it is a photograph of your level at a certain moment in time. It will allow you to familiarise yourself with this test and to understand what is expected of you, so that you can sit the examination in optimum conditions and get the results you deserve! The time needed to prepare for the examination depends on your current level of French, how much you intend to study outside of class and your goal.
We usually recommend you prepare for 6 to 12 weeks before the examination. DELF and DALF are official qualifications awarded by the French Ministry of Education to certify the competency in French of foreign candidates and French people from non-French speaking countries who do not hold a French high school or university diploma.
The offer is adapted to every age and every audience. The examinations can be taken in the approved examination centres in countries, including France. This means that, depending on their level, candidates can register for the examination of their choice.
